information

Elena Erbiceanu is enjoying life at UCF while pursuing her doctoral degree in Computer Science. In addition to working on her degree and her research, she is learning about the US, and is fast becoming one of the best copy editors at the lab, to the chagrin of many of the US-born students.

She is currently investigating applications of interactive genetic algorithms and NeuroEvolution of Augmenting Topologies in material design and lighting, automatic estimation of visual appeal in consumer photography, semi-guided evolution of character behaviors for Mixed Reality scenarios.

During her undergraduate studies in Computer Science she was involved in developing "MpNT: A Multi-Precision Number Theory Package", under the guidance of Prof. F.L. Tiplea, to provide a base for building and studying efficient cryptographic applications.

She also acquired two years of experience in an eASIC Research and Development team, contributing to innovative technologies for structured ASIC devices.
