Dr. Walters is a Research Associate with the Institute for Simulation and Training and the Department of History. She received her Ph.D. in history from Florida State University with a concentration in 20th Century US History and Public History. Her research interest within MCL is Virtual Heritage. She founded the Florida Space Coast History Project in 2000 to preserve Brevard County’s significant contribution to missile/space industry. The project amassed over 35,000 images and 200 oral histories. These materials served as the foundation for Shadows of Canaveral and the larger Virtual Heritage initiative. Virtual Heritage is a multi-disciplinary approach to examining the past utilizing the latest digital technology to disseminate information.
